Kit/Home built applications now under development
Thorp T-211
AD Aerospace has lent a T-211 to syndicate to be based close to WAM's facility. This is serving as the lead hours building plane.
The Thorp provides low cost fun flying and serve as an ideal engine test bed. At only 577kg gross weight, the WAM-120 powered T211 is lighter than the new US LSA weight limit with a useful payload, showing that diesel powered LSA class aircraft are a viable possibility.
Europa
A new intermediate frame and a cowling have been designed to facilitate an optimum conversion for "Classic" and XS Europa variants. The installation is clean and simple and places the engine weight well back by slotting the engine between the foot wells. This will use four LordTM type mounts and a special engine variant will include narrow spaced lower mounts to suit the Europa. The high thrust line of the engine allows increases ground clearance. A VP propeller is fitted from MT. The first flight took place in December 1999
