WAM announces WAM-100 LSA Engine
Wilksch Airmotive are proud to confirm that they have now completed multiple tests on the WAM 100 LSA in accordance with ASTM F 2538
This newly developed version of the engine is designed specifically for the emerging LSA Light Sports Aircraft market, currently for two seat aircraft up to 600kg
The initial tests performed certify the engine to an initial TBO of 1000hrs, with further tests now ongoing to extend that to 2000hrs as the target TBO.
WAM will now continue to work with airframe manufacturers to produce a complete LSA sepcification aircraft powered by the WAM-100 LSA.
Design work has already commenced in conjunction with IndUS aviation, who were the first US company to gain an Airworthiness Certificate for an aircraft to the new LSA standards in June 2005 with the Thorpedo SLSA.
See ASTM and LSA Standards and IndUS Aviation Inc. for further details of the LSA standards.
