Now based in Staverton, Wilksch Airmotive is a world leader in diesel
aircraft engine technology. A small, friendly and flexible company, we are
recruiting staff as part of our 2007/8 expansion program, and have the following
vacancies:
Engineering Inspector/Inventory Control
Must have a strong engineering background, and be familiar with precision
components. A flexible and responsible role, requiring initiative, good levels
of self-motivation and attention to detail. Must also be fully conversant with
engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and all standard inspection
equipment. Will preferably have experience of programming and using electronic
height gauges and CMMs.
The position requires good organisational skills due to the level of
traceability inherent in the aircraft industry, and a reasonable level of
computer literacy including familiarity with basic Windows packages, especially
Excel. The position includes shared responsibilities for maintaining the stores
and stock records.
Engine Builder
Must have experience of, and be familiar with, most aspects of building engines,
similar mechanisms, and /or precision engineering. A working knowledge of Diesel
engines would be an advantage, but is not essential. This is a flexible role,
requiring problem solving abilities, a high level of motivation and attention to
detail.
The position requires good organisational skills due to the level of
traceability inherent in the aircraft industry & a reasonable level of computer
literacy including familiarity with basic Windows packages, especially Excel.
The position includes shared responsibilities for maintaining the stores and
stock records.
Buyer/Office Administrator
Preferably with experience of purchasing parts in an engineering/technology
environment. Must be computer literate and competent with Excel. Should have
experience of, and be familiar with, general office and administration work. No
specific qualifications are required although familiarity with basic Windows
packages is needed. Some basic knowledge or experience of bookkeeping would also
be beneficial, but not essential. Must be capable of working with little
supervision from an Excel based stock control system to prioritise, negotiate
and order parts as required to support the engine build schedule.
Previous aerospace experience will not be necessary for any of the above
positions.
